Community Chautauqua – our Outreach Program that sends prominent local educators, extensively trained in the Chautauqua signature style of making history come alive, into Greater Greenville’s neighborhoods, communities and schools. 
 
Its special blend of education and entertainment for a wide range of audiences and generations (middle school and up, unless with families).  

These workshops are sponsored in part by generous grants from the Metropolitan Arts Council and the friends of Chautauqua.
 
Historic Characters that may be requested year round: 
Abraham Lincoln, John J. Audubon, Dr. Seuss, Mark Twain, Herman Melville,  Rachel Carson, Mary Ingles, Sam Watkins, Robert E. Lee, Houdini, Wade Hampton, Ambroise Bierce and Nathanael Greene.
 
During Festival Week June 18 - 24 also available: 
Langston Hughes, Thomas Edison, and Emily Dickinson
